There are a lot of differences between a traditional Vietnamese family and a modern Vietnamese family. The first is structure of family. A traditional Vietnamese family was usually an extended family, including more than 2 generations. A new marriage couple live with their relatives under a roof. Whereas
, the modern one has three to four people with 2 generations. Each parents has only one or two children. The second is the role of family members. In a traditional family, the father takes all responsibilities for the family and the wife has to do the housework, take care of their children and serve her parents-in-law. On the other hand, the modern parents share household-chore. Both of them go to work to support their family. And the last difference is the family's relationship. Because of living and working together, the members of the traditional family are understand and take care of each others. The modern parent are very busy. They have not enough time to experience with their children. In conclusion, the traditional Vietnamese family differs from the modern one.
