Dear Anna,
In the previous letter, you asked me about my family rules – a typical Vietnamese family. Actually, there are some basic rules. The first rule to mention is that junior members have to say “hi” or “goodbye” to the senior when coming or leaving home. When someone enters, we need to greet them also. It shows the respect and behavior manner of greeter. Second, after 11p.m, girls should not be out without relatives that parents trust. Going out at night is always considered dangerous, especially for girls. There are criminals and gangsters somewhere when streets become quiet and deserted. Another rule is children need to share the house work in the late afternoon and in the evening. I, together with my sister, alternately
prepare dinners, wash up, and clean the house everyday. Those rules standardize my life.
Love,
