Vo Thi Sau was born in 1933 in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. She wasn’t even a teenager when Ho Chi Minh declared independence from France on September 2, 1945. Vo Thi Sau is currently interred at Con Dao Island but this place has changed a lot since her time. What used to be a final destination has now become a tourist destination.

Each year, thousands of people visit Vo Thi Sau’s grave. They bring with them fresh cut flowers and incense sticks to pay homage to a heroine who rebelled until the very end. Although she’s no longer singing, her name can be heard in Vietnamese songs celebrating her life and bravery.

Chủ tịch Hồ Chí Minh là vị lãnh tụ vĩ đại của Việt Nam. Người sinh năm 1890 tại một ngôi làng nhỏ ở miền Trung Việt Nam. Khi còn trẻ, Người đã đi nhiều nước để tìm hiểu thế giới và tìm cách đánh bại đế quốc thực dân Pháp và đế quốc Mỹ đã tấn công đất nước mình.

Võ Thị Sáu sinh năm 1933 tại tỉnh Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu. Cô thậm chí còn chưa đến tuổi thiếu niên khi Bác Hồ tuyên bố độc lập khỏi Pháp vào ngày 2 tháng 9 năm 1945. Say mê phong trào kháng chiến chống thực dân, Võ Thị Sáu đã gia nhập một đơn vị du kích địa phương. Đến năm 14 tuổi, Sáu đã là một chiến binh kiên cường và cô đã chứng minh điều này bằng cách ném lựu đạn vào một nhóm lính Pháp, khiến một người thiệt mạng và ít nhất chục người bị thương.

Hai năm sau, Võ Thị Sáu lại định ném một quả lựu đạn khác, nhưng lần này, cô đã bị bắt trước khi có thêm thi thể người Pháp nào bị nổ tung thành từng mảnh. Giống như nhiều chiến binh đi trước và sau cô, cô bị kết án tử hình bằng hình thức xử bắn.

Ngày 23/1/1952, Võ Thị Sáu trải qua những phút cuối đời để ca hát. Cô từ chối bị bịt mắt khi họ trói cô vào cọc và bài hát vẫn được ngân nga ra từ miệng cô - cho đến khi nó im bặt bởi tiếng đạn. Lúc ấy cô 19 tuổi...

Võ Thị Sáu hiện được an táng tại đảo Côn Đảo nhưng nơi này đã thay đổi rất nhiều so với thời của cô. Nơi từng là điểm đến cuối cùng giờ đã trở thành một địa danh du lịch.

Mỗi năm có hàng ngàn người đến viếng mộ Võ Thị Sáu. Họ mang theo hoa tươi và nhang để tỏ lòng thành kính với nữ anh hùng đã đấu tranh đến phút cuối cùng. Dù không còn ca hát nhưng tên tuổi của cô vẫn có thể được nghe thấy trong các bài hát Việt Nam ca ngợi cuộc đời và lòng dũng cảm của cô.
